Our understanding of the world depends greatly on the perspective from which we view it. To expand our understanding we must expand our perspectives. It can be said that the Earth revolves around the Sun, and this is true. But it is also true that the Earth revolves around the galactic core, chasing the Sun as it makes the same journey.
From day to day, and from year ro year, we may find ourselves in what appears to be the same familiar places we have experienced before, but as this animation shows, by every second we are hurdling into vast new regions of the Universe. Each moment in our stream of consciousness is a unique point on the grid of space-time that exists throughout all of time and in all locations. Honor the relationships that define your truths. It is the Earth that holds us to it’s surface and gives us our most basic sense of presence and location. The persistence of the setting Sun rising again gives us our first hint that we are revisiting this same experience, only more so, and with new eyes. The Moon guides us through the seasons slowly turning its face, teaching us that even in returning to what is familiar we are ever evolving. And the Sun dipping to it’s lowest point above the horizon gently reminds us that we have come full circle, and will again.
